American Gold AW11

I fell in love with American Gold ever since I did my photographic brief on it. If you aren't aware American Gold is a brand created by Suzanne Ford Carafano which documents her personal travels around America.
From the Native Red Indian to the country wild west, you can clearly see the story behind each outfit. This is what makes it so special, each piece is individual and nothing like I have seen before. The collection definitely has a vintage feel to it.  In short, American Gold is an American girl’s celebration of the rich and varied culture that makes her country great.

House of Hello Kitty by Swarovski

Any body who knows me, knows that I am a lover of all things Hello Kitty. Imagine my excitement when I found about the "House of Hello Kitty" presented by Swarovski.

Austrian crystal brand Swarovski teamed up with Hello Kitty to produce 31 limited edition items. This ranged from a pendant and charm of a bejeweled Hello Kitty in a black dress, dangly earrings featuring Kitty’s signature red bow, and a Kitty face ring. The collection is available now in Japan with international sales starting in August.

The range has featured in the "House of Hello Kitty" event which took place in Omotesando Hills in Tokyo. If only I lived in Tokyo to be able to see the event in all its glory. Nethertheless, the pictures will have to do.

I am now half way through my second (and final) internship for this Summer. After this I will be taking a much deserved rest.

Style Cover

I am now currently interning at Style magazine in Buckinghamshire. The magazine is free and distributed around Milton Keynes. I don't have a job role as such but some of what I do is to research paticular ideas for potential editorial features and create stories from Press Releases.

It's been good in showing me how a magazine runs and how it is put together. I am also working alongside the team at MK citizen, which is again a local free paper in Milton Keynes. More than anything, I'm getting to experience mainly journalism techniques. I have been left to work on my own demise, which at times can be a bit tedious. Nethertheless, I am gaining important experience to boost my CV.

Thinking about my future, I definitely think my strengths lie in PR. I really enjoyed it and found that it offers a wide scope. I would however like to try and gain further work experience in a diferent side of a magazine, perhaps one that is more fashion based like Elle, Vogue etc.

I have recently developed an obsession with shoes. Unbeknown to what has triggered it, (as I always saw myself as a handbag-kinda-gal), but I have now recently converted to the shoe world.

This was helped by my two pairs of free (yes free!) trainers I was allowed to pick out at Exposure yesterday. The clearing of all S/S 11 Nike wear meant that so much of it was up for grabs. Of course the main employees got their first picks, (may I add appearing vulture-like). There was still plenty to go around and I managed to snag myself a pair of Under cover Jun Takahashi's fragment design trainers. Originally, Undercover is a Japanese based clothing brand for-fronted by designer Jun Takahashi. His passion for running proceeded him to collaborate with Nike. I love the simplicity of his style which is reflected in my trainers below.

I was a little sad to leave Exposure yesterday. The internship offered me so much in terms of truly being able to understand the PR world. It has definitely lead me to consider a possible career in it. Especially if I get perks like free gifts and if the odd celeb pops in (Yes Kanye West came in amongst over boybands!). However, time waits for no man as I also start my new internship on Monday. It's at a fashion magazine based local to me which saves me such a long commute every day!

Now, I am not much of a shoe person, but these shoes have the power to turn me in to one. Terry De Havilland is a God at designing the perfect couture shoe. His range is very different to anything else I have seen which makes a good change. My favourite has to be the first shoe. Perfect for a evening on the town or a fancy party. One day I will own a pair. Shop his collection here.

Lady Gaga is currently forefronting a campaign, which helps to raise money for all the victims affected by the Japan disaster. Other celebrities helping the cause include Karl Lagerfeld Cyndi Lauper, Blake Lively, Nicole Kidman, Victoria Beckham, Orlando Bloom and Gwyneth Paltrow (to name a few). Teaming up with Japanese Vogue, GQ and Uniqlo they have created tshirts featuring their own encouraging words in showing support to the victims affected by the disaster. Tshirts are now available from Uniqlo. Please help show your support for such a good cause.

I am in absolute awe Of Rosie Huntington-Whitely after watching her make her acting debut in the new Transformers 3 movie. The model turned actress is exeptionaly beautiful, especially when she graced the front cover of this months Elle. Having replaced Megan Fox as Shia Labeouf's co-star and female role in the movie, she has now made a name for herself in the acting world, and I am sure that it will not be the last time we see her on the big screen.

Seriously need these shoes in my life! The Hunter Milbank's are the  equivalent of the Nike high tops but in the Hunter range. Absolutely fallen in love with them ever since I saw them in the showroom at Exposure. You can buy them for me here.
