I first came across Katie Eary when I saw her collection displayed in Exposure's showroom. I have to admit, when I first saw it, I was a little sceptical. The brand is unconventional to say the least and I suppose breaks the mould of a typical fashion brand.

Katie Eary, a London based designer is an emerging talent through the support initiative NEWGEN MEN. The idea of NEWGEN MEN is to help designers put themselves on the map, with the aid of sponsorship coming from Topman. The collection is centred on street wear/style. She has already had raging success, what with Kate Moss being shot in her collection for Vogue. The collection is vibrant and has taken fashion to new levels. She will no doubt be the one to watch.

Popular footwear designer Christian Louboutin has taken an unconventional route in to creating a ballet shoe with 8inch heels. These shoes will be auctioned off in order to raise money for one of Britain's most popular ballet companies, the English National ballet.

Street Style

One of my uni summer projects is to take snaps of any people whose fashion we admire on the street. Being right in the centre of London - what better place to do it? I have already taken some which have been posted below!

Love and peace

p.s. still loving my life as an intern

WOW at the shoes, Christian Louboutin need i say more?

Jada Simone freelance stylist. Loving this look, urban-retro so chic.

Will - an Intern at Exposure sporting a casual laid back look.

A girl casually snapped in the street. Loving the full length black skirt with the soft pale blouse, something incoherently gothic about it.

The wonderful Jen, loving the head scarf such a lovely way to finish off and compliment an outfit!

Intern part deux.

Today was my second day and so I began to feel at home more, becoming familiar with my surroundings and settling in to a daily routine.

Today I experienced my first meeting. All the workers gathered in the hall/reception area. We were informed that Exposure had won two bronze awards at the prestigious event Cannes Lions. The award was for PR and was for the Doc Martens 50th birthday celebrations video.

We were also showed three separate videos of new brand "Farrell Apparel".  This is a newly established clothing line launched by Robbie Williams, for which Exposure have created its campaign. The clothing will be available in Net-A-Porter and House of Fraser. Robbie had the idea of creating clothes that would be worn on average guys in pubs, hence why the clothing is sold in House of Fraser and not Libertys. http://www.robbiewilliams.com/shop/farrell-apparel

Today was about familiarising myself with tasks that I had already learnt how to complete in addition to carrying out new ones. I learnt how to use the scanner/copier (vital in the world of PR and vital knowledge of an intern). I also did a little errand to a local newsagent to pick up a copy of today's Grazia, and I learnt how to send out stock to a company. All of which will no doubt be important.

Today was also about learning that great minds really do think alike, as all interns were similarly dressed today. Particularly me and Jen wearing cream shirts and denim shorts!

Vintage shirt, Vintage denim Levis shorts and Urban Outfitters Necklace.

A day in the life of an intern: Part 1

Today I started my first day at Exposure Promotions and first ever day as an intern. The internship is for four weeks and my job role is a showroom intern.

Exposure promotions is a creative agency that handle many areas of promotions such as PR, media, advertising etc. Its a good company with offices in America and Tokyo... http://www.exposure.net/europe/

As expected, I was very nervous/apprehensive about my first day but also very excited. I had carefully planned my outfit, carried out research on the company, made my travel arrangements so I was good to go. Having been to Exposure promotions before for an interview I was familiar with its surroundings, and so I felt at ease when I returned to there. I was greeted by the showroom manager who gave me a guided tour to Exposure promotions, and introduced me to the people that worked there. There were various other interns, so I immediately felt at ease in the knowledge that I would be working with others, and that we could help each other out.

I immediately got to work, having had the interns show me the ropes. I quickly adapted to doing the work and felt that I had picked it up well. The day went quickly and slowly at some points as there wasn't as much work to do but I was assured that this was a one-off and that I would have to expect to be rushed off my feet constantly! I did various jobs from tidying the show room to returning stock to the showroom, ordering a courier to take stock away and preparing stock to be taken to its destination. I learnt a hell of a lot in one day and can't wait to return tomorrow!

The company work with many brands from Levis, to Claires, Nike, Hobbs, Doc Martens, Hunters. It also works with high end brands like Mackintosh. It was cool to know that I had already seen there collections for this A/W and even some for S/S 2012! It was also good to know that they had an event called the Green Room about three weeks ago prior to my arrival, where celebs had attended and received free products! #thisisthelife

P.s. I slightly peed my pants a little when I saw a pair of Doc Marten shoes in a box marked "Ed Weswick". Please come and visit me at Exposure, it would make my day!
